Zimmunity – Immune Support

Zimmunity – Immune Support

The biggest question surrounding us currently is “How can I support my immune system?”. But, taking more pills and supplements is something that is hard to do and not something to look forward to. Here at Bentilia we had a dream, something as simple as having all the necessary nutrition and vitamins in a meal that everyone loves. In every sense of the word we are what we eat and in a physical sense we are exactly the sum of everything we’ve out into our bodies.

Our immune system is the reason we live long lives. It not only protects us from external pathogens such as viruses, bacteria, and parasites but also battles cells that have mutated due to illnesses such as cancer and now in 2020 every kind of virus surrounding us. Here at Bentilia we genuinely believe in “changing the world through food.” Through countless research and experience we have seen the typical diets that affect our world today. We all struggle with the fast-paced, convenient society where fast food is now taking precedence over a nutritious meal.

With this in mind, we teamed up with many professionals in the field of nutrition to create Zimmunity = Ziti + Immunity. This superfood Ziti pasta was created to include a portion of 6.68 vegetables per box, and 1 serving of pasta is 1.67 servings of vegetables. Vegetables included such as broccoli, spinach, kale, pumpkin, sweet potato, kelp, sunflower seeds, chlorella, maitake mushrooms, and shiitake mushrooms.

To name just a few of the benefits on your immune system, the fiber, polyphenols, and flavonoids alone are a brilliant source of immune boosters. According to Gregory Freund M.D. “Soluble fiber changes immune cells from being pro-inflammatory warrior cells to anti-inflammatory peacekeeper cells,” because soluble fiber boosts a protein called interleukin-4 and thus stimulates the body’s infection-fighting T-cells. Polyphenols promote immunity to foreign pathogens through various pathways. These receptors signal and allow cellular uptake of polyphenols, who then activate signaling pathways to initiate immune responses. And finally, flavonoids which is considered as a plant secondary metabolite with functions such as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-mutagenic, enzyme modulation, and anti-cancer. Recent studies have shown that flavonoids influence the immune system response and even immune-modular effects.

Ultimately, we all want our bodies to have the tools it needs to defend us from the dangers unseen in a molecular level that plague us all. And we are more than happy to provide all of that in a pasta that shares the taste of any mom’s homemade cooking. Our goal is to create the change we seek and have found in our personal diets and thus unlock the power within and our body’s natural healing abilities.
