Our Certifications

Words like vegan, vegetarian and plant-based are presumed healthy, but that’s not always the case.  More often than not, these foods are highly processed, full of added sugars and oil and high in sodium. With over 50% of the population eating more plant-based for health reasons, the Certified Plantricious seal differentiates the plant-nutritious foods from those that are merely plant-based.
The Certified Plantricious guidelines were created by the nation’s leading medical experts advocating plant-nutrition for optimum health and endorsed by over 300 medical and healthcare professionals and organizations.

Bentilia Gluten Free Vegan Legume Bean Pasta Red Lentil Rotini Penne Macaroni

SCS is proud to certify foods and beverages under the strict gluten-free standard developed by the Gluten Intolerance Group and administered by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO). GFCO-certified is the largest and fastest growing gluten-free label in North America, stricter than Codex, USA, Canada, the EU and many other country standards. For instance, while the Codex standards, developed by the World Health Organization and UN Food and Agriculture Organization, allow up to 20 parts per million of gluten, GFCO certification requires that foods meet a standard twice that strict – no more than 10 parts per million.

Kosher

Kosher is a Hebrew word meaning “fit” or “proper.” When “kosher” is applied to food, it indicates that a food item is fit for consumption according to Jewish law, while the term “kashrus” refers to the general subject of kosher food.

A basic principle of kashrus is complete separation of meat and dairy products; they may not be cooked or eaten together. A kosher kitchen has separate dishes, utensils, cookware and preparation areas for meat and dairy.

Kosher Certification is a process by which a company ensures that their food is kosher—fit for consumption by observant Jews who practice a religious dietary protocol rooted in Jewish biblical tradition.
